M.SC. - BIOLOGICAL SCIENCES

The M.Sc. in Biological Sciences at NMIMS (Deemed-to-be University) is a research-oriented postgraduate programme designed to develop strong foundations in modern life sciences. Introduced in 2012, the programme has evolved as per NEP requirements integrating advanced theoretical knowledge, laboratory training, and interdisciplinary research exposure. 

Students gain extensive hands-on experience with modern biological and analytical techniques, enabling them to build expertise in areas such as molecular biology, genomics, bioinformatics, immunology, and biomedical research. The programme emphasizes analytical thinking, experimental design, and scientific communication, preparing graduates for careers in research institutions, biotechnology industries, healthcare sectors, and higher academic studies.

2 Years (Full-Time Programme) 

• 3 Semesters– Coursework and laboratory training 
• 1 Semester– Research project / Dissertation

The programme is offered as a full-time course (Monday to Saturday).

Admission Criteria Process 

Admission is based on a two-stage selection process. 

Stage 1 – Written Test 
Eligible candidates must appear for a written entrance test conducted at the NMIMS    

Stage 2 – Personal Interview 
Shortlisted candidates are invited for a personal interview at the NMIMS campus. 

The final merit list is prepared based on performance in both stages.
