Report: Workshop on Next Generation Sequence Data Analytics

Objective: The primary aim of the workshop was to provide participants with insights into Next Generation Sequence (NGS) data analytics through open-source software, fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange in the field of genomic research.

Overview:

The Sunandan Divatia School of Science successfully organized a workshop dedicated to Next Generation Sequence Data Analytics on April 6th, 2024. The event witnessed active participation from undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral students, as well as faculty members. The workshop aimed to impart knowledge about open-source software pertinent to genome analysis and covered various facets of computational genome analysis.

Retrieving NGS Data: Demonstrated the usage of the SRA toolkit and elaborated on various file formats associated with NGS data retrieval, facilitating access to valuable genomic data for analysis.

DNA-Seq Analysis and Visualization: DNA-Seq analysis techniques and visualization tools, enhancing their understanding of genomic data interpretation.

RNA-Seq Analysis and Visualization: Insights into RNA-Seq analysis methodologies and visualization approaches, offering participants a comprehensive view of gene expression analysis.

Metagenomics Analysis and Visualization: Metagenomics analysis and visualization techniques, expanding participants' knowledge to include microbial community analysis.
