My doctoral research initiated at SVKM’s NMIMS University encouraged me to include international perspective in my career as a researcher. I therefore planned to do specific part of my research project across a different host institute that complemented my research on Nano-Biosensors. With the help of my mentor Dr. Sudeshna Chandra, I submitted my application for international short-term research fellowship. And it was a successful attempt as I was selected and being awarded iPUR fellowship i.e. international PhD Program at Universität Regensburg, Regensburg, Germany. iPUR program is supported from German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and promotes to carry out short-term research internship. It was an excellent opportunity for me to learn and explore new world at Universitat Regensburg, Germany for a period of three months (Jan – Mar 18’).
It was a great place to develop myself by working in a challenging international environment with research group of Prof. Antje Baeumner. As her research group also primarily focuses on biosensors as similar to my subject area, it was always fun learning new ideas and technique by interacting with competent co-workers in a similar field. The project helped me in getting trained for a new technique eletrochemiluminescence and laser scribing of new electrode. It was a valuable work exposure by discovering an altogether different people, lab practices, culture and learning new language providing a very rewarding life experience.
