The demand for qualified physiotherapists is rapidly increasing, driven by a growing focus on preventive healthcare, rising cases of lifestyle-related ailments, sports injuries, and an ageing population. The global physiotherapy market is expanding, offering vast career opportunities across hospitals, rehabilitation centres, sports clinics, and home healthcare services. To keep pace with this surge and address the need for well-trained, industry-ready professionals, NMIMS launched the Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) program.
The BPT program at NMIMS is designed to offer a perfect blend of theoretical knowledge, clinical training, and hands-on experience, empowering students to develop expertise in assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation practices. With a strong emphasis on research, patient-centric care, and technological advancements in physiotherapy, the program prepares graduates to become competent and compassionate healthcare professionals who can contribute meaningfully to this growing sector.
The program will be conducted in full compliance with the norms and standards prescribed by the National Commission for Allied and Healthcare Professions (NCAHP), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.
Duration - 5 years (8 semesters and 1 year internship)
Intake - 20
Eligibility Criteria - Candidate must have passed the Higher Secondary (10+2) or equivalent examination from a recognized Indian board or the National Open School with a minimum 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (Botany & Zoology).
Note: No candidate will be admitted unless they have appeared for the NEET examination.
