CONVOCATION – 2017

Convocation 2017 for Sunandan Divatia School of Science was held on August 10, 2017.

Prof. (Dr.) N. R. Madhava Menon, Padmashree, Honorary Prof. & IBA Chair on Continuing Legal Education, was the Chief Guest for the ceremony. There were in total 11 students who received their Doctoral Degrees and 62 students who received their Post Graduate Degrees.

Dr. Akshata Raut, who received her Doctoral Degree in Biological Sciences, was awarded the “Best Ph. D. Thesis” award for her thesis titled ‘MicroRNA (miRNA) expression profiling during hepatic differentiation from stem cells’.

Dr. Sagar Chhabria, who received his Doctoral Degree in Biological Sciences, was awarded the “Best Ph. D. Thesis” award for his thesis titled ‘In situ allicin generation using targeted allinase delivery for inhibition of tumor growth and determining various mechanisms responsible for inhibition’.

Ms. Srinidhi Shetty, who received her Master’s Degree in Biological Sciences, was awarded the “Best M. Sc. Thesis (Biological Sciences)” award for her thesis titled ‘Studying the effects of estrogen on the survival, differentiation and function of human osteoclasts’.

Ms. Nirali Shah, who received her Master’s Degree in Physiotherapy, was awarded the “Best Thesis - Physiotherapy” award for her thesis titled ‘Effect of Size of Smartphone on Hand Function.’.

Mr. Pritesh Halder, who received his Master’s Degree in Chemistry, was awarded the “Best Thesis - Physiotherapy” award for his thesis titled ‘Evaluation Of Gait Using Edinburgh Visual Gait Scale In Patients Undergoing Total Knee Replacement’.

Mr. Shreyas Shanbhag, who received his Master’s Degree in Statistics, was awarded the “Best M. Sc. Thesis (Statistics)” award for his thesis titled ‘Identification Of Dealers Showing Fictitious Sales To Transfer Bogus Tax Credits’.
