On October 15th 2016, Sunandan Divatia School of Science NMIMS celebrated the 85th birth anniversary of late Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam with immense enthusiasm and pride. Unarguably the most loved President of India, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam was a scientist who made India proud with his missile defense programme. But his favourite job was teaching and that’s how he wanted the world to remember him.

The theme for this event was ‘INNOVATION AND ENTREPENEURSHIP’.

The day began with Dr. Rajan Saxena, Vice Chancellor, SVKM’s NMIMS, motivating the students to think out of the box and with his inspiring and encouraging thoughts.

The Chief Guest for this event Dr. Maloy Gosh, Chief Scientific Officer of Zumutor Biologics Inc. & Chief Scientist at Theramyt Novobiologics and the Guest of Honor, Mr. Vijay Nair, Vice President, Gramener, shared their experiences of being a successful entrepreneur, the trials and tribulations faced by them and their thoughts on what it takes to be and innovative and successful entrepreneur. The speakers motivated and guided students on how to bring their ideas into reality.

As Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam said “All of us do not have equal talent but all of us have equal opportunity to develop our talent.” the second half of the day compromised of a quiz competition – Spark those Neurons which was brain racking. With the seconds ticking by, the students had to spark their neurons and quickly answer the questions in order to compete with their competitors. The poster making competition – Vision 2020: Draw His Vision, showed us that imagination and creativity flows in the students of Sunandan Divatia School of Science. The program was concluded with the Cultural Event organized by the Cheerzzz Cultural committee.

SDSOS Students Day was sponsored by GeneX, SAS, Ultramax and Thermo Scientific, the event was co-sponsored by Metrohm India Limited
