Faculties and students of School of Science visit Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd., Mhape, Navi Mumbai
The “Industry Interface Cell” of the School of Science (SOS) organized an Industrial Visit to Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd., Mhape, Navi Mumbai on 11th January 2012. Twenty eight students along with faculties, Dr. Shilpee Sachar (In-charge, Industry Interface Cell, SOS) and Dr. Brijesh Sukumaran visited the “New Chemical Entity Research and Development Division” of “Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd.”, located at Mhape, Navi Mumbai. The students got a chance to visit different labs where the scientists gave an overview of the latest techniques and protocols used in discovering new drug molecules in theis on-goin projects. The visit covered different departments like synthesis, drug metabolism and pharmacokinetics, in vitro and in vivo studies, toxicology and biochemistry, analytical and large scale processing laboratory.
